Officer Mike Wasilewski, LCSW, has been with a large suburban Chicago department since 1996. He holds a Master of Social Work degree from Aurora University and has served on his department on the Crisis Intervention & Domestic Violence teams, and also as a Crisis negotiator.
In addition to writing and traveling the country as a police trainer, he is a psychotherapist at Fox Bend Counseling in downtown Oswego, IL. His clientele is diverse, serving police officers to heads of industry. He has a real passion for finding simple answers for complex problems.
As a talk therapist he relies on multiple modalities such as CBT, brief treatment models, DBT, ACT, and trauma informed care for the treatment of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and PTSD for adolescents through adults. He also provides couples counseling and is an expert in mindfulness.
